Games Start Saturday March 20th

The time everyone has been waiting for has arrived. We are now able to announce that the city is allowing us to play competitive games for softball and baseball. Games will be starting on Saturday, March 20th.

In order to keep everyone safe and all the teams playing we need to do our part and follow basic LAYBS COVID protocols.

The following is a list of LAYBS COVID protocols to be followed:

  • Face coverings are required at the park and while on LAYBS grounds.
  • Face coverings are required when ordering at the snack shack.
  • Immediate family members only in attendance for games, this is to help keep attendance low.
  • Bleachers are off limits for spectators.
  • Spectators are to physically distance them selves in seating unless from the same household.
  • Score booths are closed to all youth and are only to be used by the official scorekeeper if they choose.
  • Dugouts will be used with face coverings to be worn while in the dugout. Players seating will extend outside the dugout doors to allow for physical distancing.
  • Players will be encouraged to sanitize hands in between innings.
  • Face coverings for positions such as catcher and pitcher will be at a players discretion and not required.
  • No postgame hand shakes between teams.
  •

Please note that we will be posting more information on our league website very soon but we wanted to get this notice out to everyone as soon as possible that we are cleared to play.
