Los Altos Youth Baseball and Softball LAYBS is committed to providing every youth in our community the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of youth baseball & softball in a safe, family oriented and educational environment. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of the game, each child will be taught the qualities of good sportsmanship, sense of fair play, respect for the game and how to compete with class. While the mission of LAYBS is to advance the skill levels of all players, LAYBS will make it our priority to nurture and educate our youth to grow into honest, loyal and hard working citizens as THEY are our future. |
President’s Message March 3, 2009 Welcome to the 2009 Los Altos Youth Baseball and Softball spring season. My name is Dwayne Fowler and I am excited to represent LAYBS as its new League President. As I have transitioned into my new role, it has been amazing to see our Board of Directors put in so much time, hard work and dedication to ensure that our children have a quality program to participate in. Two years ago my family moved back into Long Beach from Orange County and we needed a baseball program for my son to participate in. Our new neighbors recommended LAYBS and we were hooked! There were a lot of reasons for our satisfaction with the program but two areas have stuck in my mind: the family atmosphere and the positive and safe environment that is provided for all the kids who play baseball and softball. It is with a great desire, as the President, to continue the traditions of LAYBS. As I have talked to people and researched the history of Los Altos, it is amazing how many families in our community have been served by providing a quality baseball and softball program. This year our registration grew to over 800 participants between baseball and softball and I really believe these numbers reflect the positives that are happening in our program. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and I look forward to a great 2009 season and LET’S PLAY BALL!
